Task 1

Task 1
Introduction
Within this assignment I will be introducing products and software’s which are used to create graphics. I would be comparing different types of software and hardware together and giving views of the limitation of a software or a hardware. Lastly I would be explain how some types of hardware have involved within time.
Computer monitor
Computer monitors could be known as peripheral devices for a computer system. There are many types of computer monitors such as CRT, LCD LED. The purpose of a computer monitor is that they display information, images or videos on the screen. An example of a computer monitor would be HP ENVY 34c 34-inch Media Display and the resolution of the monitor is 3440x1440 resolution. The total price for this monitor is £749.00 but you can purchase it cheaper on different websites or in different stores. Without a monitor attached to a computer system, you are not able to design your own graphical images using software and also it will not be possible to view any types of images.

Printer
A printer is another peripheral device which is used within computer systems. There are many types of printers some are known as, Laser printer, Inject printer, a plotter printer, and so on. Printers are related to graphics because they are able to print out images which are with different graphical display.

Laser printer
A laser printer is a peripheral device which is normally connected toward a computer system to have the ability to print out information through paper from the printer. A laser printer uses A4 paper to print out images and text. A laser printer is related to graphics because you are able to print out images out of the printer. A laser printer could be expensive in cost to purchase, or it could be expensive in cost for proving resources for the printer to work properly for an example buying paper for the printer to print things you desire. The normal cost of a laser printer would be an estimate of £500-£1500+, but throughout the year the price of a laser printer are reducing to an amount of £100 and below but the powerful ones with more options still remain expensive from an amount of £1,700. An example of an expensive laser printer would be OKI B930n A3 Mono LED Laser Printer which cost £1,854, but could be bought cheaper on different website or different stores. Without a laser printer it will be unable to print out information or any type of graphical imagery.

Advantages of a laser printer
An advantage of a laser printer is that it prints fast with black and white.

Another advantage of a laser printer is that it doesn’t produce a loud amount of sound when printing.

An additional advantage of a laser printer is that you are able to print images or text on paper with colour.

Disadvantages of a laser printer
A disadvantage of a laser printer is that it takes a long time to print out images with colour.

Another disadvantage of a laser printer is that you must refilled the toner all the time which could frustrating.

An additional disadvantage of the laser printer is that it is really expensive to purchase and the ink of the toner is very toxic and poisoners.

Inkjet printer
An inkjet printer is an also a peripheral device which is used normally for printing oversized images. Inkjet printers are very cheap to purchase but if you are considering a choice of purchasing a more advanced inkjet printer with more options and features, the cost of it will be more extremely expensive than a basic inkjet printer. An example of a basic inkjet printer will be the CANON PIXMA MG3550 (All-in-One Wireless Inkjet Printer) with a cost of £39.99 to purchase. An inkjet printer is a hardware used to create graphics because it has the advantage to print out images however the user prefers.

Advantages of Inkjet printer
·         An advantage of an inkjet printer is that it is cheaper than laser printers.
·         Another advantage of the inkjet printer is that it doesn’t consume a lot of power.
·         An additional advantage of an Inkjet printer is that it is cheaper to replace the cartridges than the toners.
Disadvantages
·         A disadvantage of an inkjet printer is that any time the printer has completed printing out an image or some sort of graphical product with colour included, the paper that the product image is published on will be wet, because the inkjet spits ink onto the product it is printing. Therefore product that the inkjet is printing would be bad in quality and it will be needed for the user to wait for the product they printed out to dry out.

·         Another disadvantage of an inkjet printer is that it is slow at printing out images and text and also it outputs your product you printed out in low resolution.

·         An additional disadvantage of inkjet printers is that the cartridge sometimes cause problems when they are replaced.

Plotter
A plotter is a huge printer which normally prints out oversized images such as A1 papers. A plotter could be used for architecture and map makers to design plans and also a plotter could be used to design vector images. A plotter is related to graphics because it has the ability to draw images or pictures with at the same structure and with the same quality. An example of a plotter would be HP Design-jet T120 24” Large Format ePrinter which cost £599.99.

Advantages of a Plotter
An advantage of a Plotter is that it is an expert on drawing images at a correct structure.
Another advantage of a plotter is that it prints out large sizes of paper.

Disadvantages of a Plotter
A disadvantage of a plotter is that ink refill is really expensive.
Another disadvantage of a plotter is that printing is really slow.
An additional disadvantage of a plotter is that they are very expensive to purchase.

Digital camera card
A digital camera card is a storage device which is used to store down images or other types of storage product a digital camera captures. The purpose of a digital camera card is that it is able to save images within the card therefore you will have more available space in the digital camera that you use to capture images. An example of a digital camera card will be an SD memory card, in other words it could be called secure digital memory card.
Sometimes additional digital camera cards would be needed to be added within the device because the cards are too small. A digital camera card is related to Graphics because you need digital camera cards to store graphical images within a computer system which you could then use to modify images which is located in the SD memory card. Digital camera cards come in different storage size such as 4 gigabytes, 8 gigabytes, 16 gigabytes, 32 gigabytes and so on. Another example of digital camera card could be known as, SanDisk 32GB SD SDHC Memory Card.

Advantages of a digital camera card
·         An advantage of a storage device such as a digital camera card is that, you are able to use it on different platforms to access its storage information such as images and videos.

·         Another advantage of a digital camera card is that they are almost indestructible.
·         An additional advantage of a digital camera card is that they consume a limited amount of power.
Disadvantages of a digital camera card
·         A disadvantage of a digital camera card is that they are expensive to purchase depending on the storage capacity.
·         Another disadvantage of a digital camera card is that they are they are really small and you are able to lose them easily.

Storage device
A storage device is an input computer peripheral device which is used to store information such as text, images and videos for a backup or recovery of lost information. Some types of storage devices could be known as USB stick, Hard disk drive and so on. These types of storage devices are related to graphics because you are able to store graphical images for backup if you lose your original one. Storage devices could come in higher storage capacity such as 32 gigabytes, 1 terabytes, and 3 terabytes and so on. A Storage device is related to graphics because it will grant you the ability to save images with big sizes.  An example of a storage device would be, “Toshiba 1TB Canvio Basic USB 3.0 2.5” portable Hard Drive.

Graphic Card
A graphics card is a computer system component which is located within an input slot of a motherboard inside the base unit. A Graphics card is related to graphics because it grants the computer system the ability to display images and pictures in a higher resolution and a higher quality of display. An example of a graphics card would be ASUS GTXTITANX-12GD5 Graphics card-12GB which cost £741.57.

Internal memory
Internal memory comes within three categories which are RAM, ROM and cache memory.
RAM is known as random access memory and it is suitable to graphics because with RAM it grants you the ability to improve the speed of using the software therefore it would be faster whenever you are creating something within the software. The RAM of an internal memory comes in different capacity such as, 4 gigabytes, 16 gigabytes and 32 gigabytes. If your computer acquires 32 gigabytes of RAM memory it is able to go on its fastest speed on opening up graphical software you desire to open and so on.

Processor
A processor is known as the CPU (central processing unit) in other words the processor is the brain of a computer system. A processor is related to graphic because to grant your computer the ability to process images and other types of things when you are using a graphical software. Without a processor your computer will not have the ability to process commands.
